1. Who we are
Cat Meow AI ("we", "us") is an entertainment app for iPhone that translates cat meows, scans your cat's mood from a photo, and generates playful "cat thoughts." This policy explains what we collect when you use the app, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
2. The short version
We collect the minimum needed to make the app work. We never sell your data and we show no third-party advertising. Photos and audio you submit are used only to generate your result. You can delete your account and data at any time.
3. What we collect
- Account info — your email and name when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password (via Firebase Authentication).
- Cat photos — images you take or upload for Mood Scanner and Cat Thoughts.
- Meow recordings — the short audio you record for the Cat Translator.
- Usage & purchases — basic in-app events and subscription status (via RevenueCat) to run the free/premium tiers.
- Diagnostics — crash reports (via Sentry) to fix bugs. Not linked to your content.
4. How your photos & audio are used
When you scan a photo or record a meow, that content is sent securely to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude) through our backend solely to generate your result — the mood, translation, or "thought." We do not use your photos or recordings for advertising, and they are not used to train AI models. Results are entertainment and are not veterinary or medical advice.
5. Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the app: Google Firebase (auth, database, storage, functions), Anthropic (AI processing), RevenueCat (subscriptions), and Sentry (crash reporting). We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
6. Your rights & choices
You can delete your account from the app's settings, which removes your account data. You can revoke camera, photo, and microphone permissions any time in iOS Settings — the related features simply stop working. For any data request, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Cat Meow AI is rated 4+ but is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
